Steve began his footballing career as a trainee at League side Millwall. In 1998 he moved to Fisher Athletic, the start of a seven year spell with the South London team.
He was named Club Captain during the 2003/04 season and a year later was named the Fisher Athletic player of the year during their Southern League Division East title winning season.
He then signed for Angels during the pre-season of the 2005/06 season making his debut in the Angels 1-0 friendly victory over Conference South outfit Sutton United.
Positionally excellent, Steve was named Tonbridge Angels Club Captain on arriving and led the team from the back in the promotion chasing season.
Steve was again Club Captain for the 2006-07 season in which himself and defensive partner John Beales formed an unbreakable partnership that was only broken on few occasions through suspension or injury.
