Angels back PSA campaign
Quest to raise awareness
Our chair, Sophie Purves and her board were delighted to welcome Jason Yeo to the Yeomans Community Stadium on Tuesday evening as a new pitchside board promoting PSA Prostrate Cancer Testing Campaign was unveiled.
Jason was 51, fit with no symptoms when he took a PSA test that was to save his life. He took a test, and without its result his cancer would have spread unchallenged beyond the prostate.
He began a campaign, partnered by Prost8, in the belief that no one needs to lose their life to prostate cancer and this can be avoided with early testing; early diagnosis and early non-evasive treatments.
Jason said of his campaign that “the emphasis is on the testing aspect as without the testing the rest is irrelevant.”
Jason was delighted with Tonbridge Angels hosting his board and thankful to the club for their hospitality during the evening.
Sophie Purves said: “We are very happy to help Jason in his quest to raise awareness of the importance of PSA testing via perimeter advertising boards at football clubs around the country. We hope other clubs will follow suit and support Jason’s great, life saving initiative”
