Our Over 50’s Walking Football Team were looking to bounce back from a disappointing start to their Phase 2 Campaign against Ebbsfleet Greens on Saturday. But our opponents proved to be a tough challenge.

The Angels started well, controlling possession but two breakaways gave Ebbsfleet a 2-0 lead within 10 minutes. The Angels stuck to their task and forced a series of free kicks around the area and finally a powerful shot from leading scorer Nigel Bragg narrowed the deficit.

But once again a powerful Ebbsfleet attack just on half time left the Angels 3-1 down at the break.

The second half started in much the same fashion with the Angels having most of the possession but now beginning to push Ebbsfleet back and finally a reverse pass cross field ball from Will Burns found Jason Orchard on the left side of the area and his sharp shot went through the keepers legs to set up an exciting finish.

With the Angels pushing on Ebbsfleet began to lose their shape and the game became stretched. With a couple of minutes to go Jason Orchard sent a great pass across the pitch to Andy Goodall who smashed a superb right foot shot into the far corner to earn a draw.
