Road to Wembley begins for U11's
National League Trust Cup Local Round
The National League Trust U11 Cup, which can ultimately end with a Wembley appearance, began its journey on Thursday with the local round of the mixed competition being held at the Halcyon Wealth Longmead Stadium.
This year's round attracted 30 schools, 240 boys and girls involved in 145 fixtures, three times as many as last season, brilliantly organised by the Angels in the Community team.
Ultimately the winners were Woodlands Primary who defeated Stocks Green on penalties in the final. Woodlands will now progress to the regional finals where they will meet the winners of the equivalent tournaments at Eastbourne Borough, Maidstone United, Dartford, Ebbsfleet United, Woking, Southend United and Aldershot Town.
Whoever gets through the regional finals can start to see the Wembley Arch in their sight as the competition goes north and south.
Next Thursday it is the girls turn with memories of last year's wonderful run to the semi-finals for Slade Primary.
