Trevan steps up from the Tanners

Trevan Robinson

Leatherhead striker signs in at Longmead

Tonbridge Angels are delighted to announce the signing of Trevan Robinson, a 21 year-old forward from Isthmian League South Central Leatherhead.

Trevan had a breakthrough season with the Tanners, scoring 19 goals in a first season as a central striker. At previous clubs he had been largely employed as an either side winger.

Trevan started out at Hanwell Town, where as a 17 year-old he broke into the senior team and went on to make 13 appearances, scoring four times with time also spent on loan at Egham Town before signing at then Southern Premier League South Farnborough.

At Chertsey Town in 2022/23 he established himself, making 38 appearances and scoring nine times, three of which brought him to the attention of Leatherhead.

Arriving at Fetcham Grove as a winger, manager Hayden Bird switched him to centre forward and he flourished, virtually ever-present making 50 appearances, he rattled in 19 goals with an equal amount of assists. Leatherhead made it through to the play-offs final that ended in disappointment, when they went down 3-1 to Marlow, despite Trevan’s goal.

Jay Saunders, said of his new signing: “I’m really pleased that he has decided to join us, we had to fight off a bit of competition for him. He is someone, I believe, that can come up to this level and do really well and has a big future in the game. He is someone with pace and adds something different to our forward line. We are really excited to have him on board and he is someone that really wants to go on and have a good career in the game and hopefully he can show what he’s all about with us.”

Chair Sophie Purves added: “On behalf of the Board, I’d like to thank Leatherhead Football Club for their great help and co-operation in the transfer of Trevan. They were excellent to deal with and we look forward to a pre-season friendly at Leatherhead next July. We welcome Trevan and his family to Tonbridge Angels and wish Leatherhead the best of luck for the coming season.”
