Waggy's staying!

Scott signs on for another season

It’s Friday, it’s a Bank Holiday weekend, the sun is shining and there is even some close-season football at the Halcyon Wealth Longmead Stadium on Saturday, so why not start the weekend with some more great news!

Scott Wagstaff has put pen to paper to continue his playing career at Tonbridge Angels for the coming season.

Waggy, who ended last season as caretaker-manager for the last five (that became six) fixtures, stated several times that he wanted one more season as a player and we are delighted that he has chosen to have that time with the Angels.

Scott’s playing career that stretched over 300 EFL games with Charlton Athletic, Bristol City, Gillingham and AFC Wimbledon, has now made 102 appearances with Tonbridge Angels since joining in October 2022.

Waggy commented on extending his time with the club: “I’m buzzing to be staying at Tonbridge for another season. I love the club and the fans and want to be part of the new era here. I’m looking forward to working with our new gaffer, Craig, and all his team and will continue to give 100% to the club.”

Craig Nelson added: "I’m really pleased Scott has committed to the club. A quality player that has great experience and leadership. He will be a massive asset for us this season and sets high standards which will play a key role in what we’re building here. I look forward to working with him.”

Welcome back for another season, Waggy!
