Under-14’s beaten at Cray Valley
The Under-14’s travelled to Cray Valley with a squad decimated by Injuries and late withdrawals and as a result were only able to name two players on the substitute bench. It also meant we had several players playing out of position.
Despite this, the boys put in a real shift and kept going to the very end but it was to prove too difficult a task against a very good Cray Valley side who moved the ball exceptionally well. This meant for long periods Angels spent time chasing the ball and with a lack of options off the bench there were some very tired boys out there at the end.
Despite losing our last three games by similar score-lines, we can see some real progress. These were three very good teams we have played and we have more than held our own on all three occasions.
The way Cray Valley moved the ball across the back was excellent and something we need to learn from. We must continue to work at better ball retention, passing and being more ruthless in front of goal, coupled with a bit more luck.
