Brave Under-14s fall at Glebe

The team travelled to Chislehurst to take on last season's Champions and this season's league leaders, Glebe FC.

We changed the formation in order to make us more difficult to break down and looked to play on the counter. Just before half time and despite being under pressure for long periods it looked as though the Angels had taken the lead. All the players were convinced the ball had crossed the line. With the referee unsure, he went to their linesman to make the call who ruled the ball had not crossed the line. Glebe then broke, won a corner, from which they the scored the opening goal.

The second half started poorly for the Angels and has been the case on numerous occasions this season we conceded three goals in quick succession, which is something we still need to work on. Credit to the boys as they regrouped, tightened up and for the next 20 minutes played as they had done in the first half, creating a couple of decent openings and conceding only one more goal in the process.

If the team can bring that work effort and attitude each week, we will be more than competitive in every game.

Team: Laker, Cooper, Bennett, Garside, Cogan, Baker, Kent (C), Honarvar, Rayner, Gardner, Velvick. Subs: Neale, Moth, Turner, Dew.
