Late Clarets double takes points back to Essex

Two stoppage time goals for the Clarets sealed victory which for much of the game had looked unlikely despite them having more possession. The Angels, in front from the 16th minute, had defended with resilience and looked to be heading for all the points

That opening goal for the hosts came through a superb strike from Khale Da Costa.  A cross field pass from Jack Rudoni fed the winger on the right who then cut inside and let fly with an unstoppable strike past Carl Pentney in the Clarets goal.

Much of the remainder of the first period belonged to Chelmsford possession wise with the visitors forcing a double save from Jonathan Henly in the 16th minute and another decent stop in 3 minutes later.

The 47th minute saw Sam Higgins for Chelmsford force a terrific save from Jonny Henly. The 73rd minute following a free kick just outside the away area caused Adrian Cascavel to head brilliantly over his own bar to keep the arrears at just the one goal.

When Henly saved brilliantly again on 89 minutes from Fraser Shaw it looked like three points for the Angels but goals from Chris Whelpdale and Shaun Jeffers sent the away supporters into raptures and the points back to Essex.
