We travel to Merstham FC on Saturday 17th July (KO 3:00pm) for our 5th pre-season friendly with a 100% record and not a single goal conceded. Will we keep the run going, although we should remember it is only pre-season and no points are on the board yet, but manager Steve McKimm must be pleased with preparations so far .

Our hosts play in the Isthmian Premier (non-league's Step 3) and have been competing there since the 2015-16 season following promotion from Isthmian South.  The following campaign saw them reach the 1st Round Proper of the Emirates FA Cup when they entertained Oxford Utd.  Despite a loss they enjoyed a record attendance of 1,920.     

Our last competitve meetings with the Moatsiders took place in the 2018-19 season when on the opening day of the season we had a relatively comfortable 3-0 away win, but the tables were turned on 23rd February when then manager Hayden Bird's squad visited Longmead and inflicted a 1-0 defeat ending an Angels unbeaten run that went back to 29th December.  

Fate was to bring the two clubs together again in the form of the Isthmian Premier Play Off Final on 6th May, when in front of a huge Longmead crowd of 2,268 it was the Angels turn for victory and of course progress through to that Super Play Off Final.
