Jay's Friday Briefing

Tonbridge manager Jay Saunders says Jordan Greenidge's departure works for all parties as we play our first game since his departure.

The Angels are looking for back to back wins and the double over Havant and Waterlooville when we travel to the South Coast on Saturday.

Jay said: "Nathan (Odokonyero)'s come in and done really well, his record's good and he offers something different. Jordan's been desperate to play and hasn't been overly happy with not playing. We tried to get them in the side together and for me it didn't work as a pair against Slough. We agreed to circulate his name, Dartford came in and both parties agreed it would be good for Jordan. We've got an eye on next season, Jordan made it clear he probably isn't going to be here next season so for all parties it works.

"I'm not rushing into a replacement. We'd love to keep Nathan for the rest of the season, we'll be talking to Ebbsfleet about that.  We've got Francis who can play there. Josh (Popoola), who we've got in, can play there and Hayden Velvick has done really well. Francis and Hayden, the younger lads, deserve a chance, but it's something we can work at if we need to."

Moving onto Havant, Jay is surprised they are in the position they are, 23rd, but is aware they still have a strong squad: "It's one of the most bizarre situations. They and Eastbourne, you look at the squad and their players and if someone said 'do you like him as a player, would you take him', you'd say yes. They're good players, but it hasn't worked for them. I watched a couple of their games. They're down there for a reason but if you don't prepare right they've got players who can cause you problems.

"Let's just get the next three points on the board and get as many points as we can for the rest of the season. The last month has killed us for getting in the play-offs, we're already planning for next season, so there's a lot to be positive about. If we can get three points Saturday and then go to Aveley and get another three points it looks more positive.

"Ben Swift is training, Jernade Meade and Gardy are back in contention so we're looking forward to the game."
