Jay's Friday Briefing
Excitement is building for our first home game of the season, against Weston-super-Mare.
The visitors from Somerset won their opening game last week, and scored the league's first goal, and for manager Jay Saunders, a game against any newly promoted side has a bit of the unknown about it.
Jay Saunders said: "Whenever you play a team coming up early on their players are buzzing, it's a new league. We watched the game against Havant and they deserved to win, possibly by more goals. We're in for a tough test.
"These early games it's hard to tell for managers and coaches. You do your research but you have to worry about yourselves. I'm sure they'll have a good season. I went there with another club and they were a good side then, and Scott Bartlett's side I'm sure will be competitive."
On team news, again that's unknown until tomorrow morning.
Jay added: "I've got a few having fitness tests, Jernade Meade, Joe Turner, Stefan Payne. If that goes OK they'll be in contention. There's nothing serious but we have to make sure we don't rush them. If we rush them for the sake of one game we could lose them for a month. Hopefully they'll come through OK. We lose Kodi (Lyons-Foster) and we've still got Gio (Crichlow) suspended, which isn't ideal, but we have to go out with what we've got."
