Jay's Friday Briefing
Tonbridge test their ability against the second placed side in the league, Worthing on Saturday. Recent games are often very close and Jay Saunders knows we will have to be at our best.
He said: "Worthing are a very good side, on their day one of the best in the league and are having a very good season after falling just short last season. We need to be at our best. We had a close encounter with them early in the season with a late goal which cost us, and last season we had another close fixture so it's definitely a game we'll be up for.
"Fitness-wise Jernade Meade will have a fitness test and Ben Swift is out, but other than that we should be OK. One or two have niggles but hopefully they'll be OK."
We've added a new striker to the side who could be involved against Worthing, so how does Jay plan to play new loan signing Nathan Odokonyero?
"I've added Nathan because I think Jordan needed competition and Sonny Fish has been in and out with his availability. I've been working on getting Nathan in for the last two or three weeks. He's a goalscorer, I've seen him for a few years, he played against me when he was at Bognor and he's someone I've always liked so when the opportunity came up I thought it's someone we need. We've been a bit inconsistent, maybe in the forward area so, he's someone to come in and push us in that area, or play alongside Jordan."
