Hornchurch Preview

A month on from our New Year’s Day washout at Hornchurch, we return for the rescheduled fixture with at least the weather forecast set fair for the next couple of days.

The original fixture was brought to a waterlogged conclusion after 37 minutes with the score level at 1-1 after Ollie Muldoon had given the home side a ninth minute lead before Nazrin Bakrin equalised on 23 minutes.

Since then, Hornchurch have played four games, losing three and drawing one, Saturday's home game with Salisbury, when a second half goal from Darren McQueen earned the point. They presently sit in 17th place, but relatively comfortably clear of the relegation places.

Hornchurch have recently added a familiar face to Angels fans, Tommy Wood, who had three spells with us between 2020 and 2023. Woody initially had a loan spell from AFC Wimbledon in 2020, scoring three times in three appearances before his release from the EFL club led to a permanent stay for two seasons at Longmead, where he added 15 goals in 45 appearances before departing for Hampton and Richmond Borough.

Also, three players who played against us have changed their "arrangement" with Hornchurch. Henry Hearn has extended his loan spell from Millwall, and defenders Will Greenidge and Giles Phillips, who were on loan from Colchester and Ebbsfleet respectively, have now become permanent Hornchurch players.

Ryan Hanson is available for selection following completion of his suspension but Mo Dabre and Sean Shields are doubtful through injury.

The full preview for the original Hornchurch fixture can be read HERE with all the usual travel and catering details.

Admission prices to the game are: Adults £15, Concessions £10 and U18s £5 and can be purchased in advance HERE until 5pm on the day of the match or alternatively cash or card accepted on the turnstiles.

Enjoy the game!
