Romans' road leads to Longmead
Tonbridge Angels will try to maintain our unbeaten start to the season when we welcome Bath City to the Halcyon Wealth Longmead Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Our record so far this season is won one drawn two, whereas Bath have won one and lost two. In their last game on Tuesday, Bath lost 2-1 to Torquay United. Cody Cooke, last year's top scorer for Bath, was in the Torquay side and scored, although Scott Wilson, who scored 18 last campaign, will be the one to watch
In this fixture last year Tonbridge came from 2-1 down to win 3-2. Jamie Fielding gave the Angels an early lead, Cody Cooke and Scott Wilson efforts gave Bath a 2-1 lead, Lewis Gard had a goal disallowed for Tonbridge on the stroke of half-time before Gard converted two penalties in the second half.
Angels boss Jay Saunders said: "It's a good test for us, probably a very different test than the last two games. Jerry's put together a strong side this year and a lot of people fancy them to do well. We've had two good draws away from home so we want to back that up with a win."
Tonbridge will still be without striker Noel Leighton (ankle), although he was at training this week doing some work with Ryan Hewlett, our physio. The Bank Holiday weekend has probably come too soon for Tariq Hinds (hamstring). With Taylor Maloney and Naz Bakrin both doing well on their full debuts on Monday night, Jay Saunders has decisions to make over his starting XI.
