A Review of Meet the Manager

Meet

Craig's opening event is well attended

Tonbridge Angels supporters were blessed with a warm evening as well clear of three figures of them assembled in the Marquee to hear Craig Nelson’s first Meet the Manager event.

Excellently hosted by our own Matt Davison, Craig outlined what he expects to bring to the Halycon Wealth Longmead Stadium pledging to produce a side that will be of positive mindset, aggressive and exciting to watch.

On building for the future, he said: “I’m here for as long as you guys want me” before adding that, while ambition will always be set high, it is important foundations are put in place for the future.

Craig introduced part of his management team, Brian Nzinga, who is a development coach at Crystal Palace and Sheikh Ceesay, his goalkeeper coach, both former teammates and friends of many years. Unable to attend were Joe Vines (Assistant Manager); Elyon Marshall-Katung (Coach); Larry Hays (Kit Manager); Ben Ghinn (Physio) and Benjamin Chevreau (Analyst).

He then revealed three new signings, Matty Warren, Arthur Penney and Bradley Williams, each of whom took the microphone to outline to the audience the strengths that they will add to a squad, that Craig said presently stands at 16.

Matt opened the floor for questions which covered Craig’s football philosophy, the use of the loan system, collaboration of the Academy and youth structure, of which he said that a member of the management team would be present at many of the Academy, Women’s, Isthmian and Kent Youth League games.

Craig thanked our supporters for turning out in significant numbers and also announced that early arrivals for the Saturday, 28th June day of Angelfest would be able to view a training session prior to the start of the festival.
