Angels in the Community launches
Footballing opportunities promote healthy lifestyle across the area.
Tonbridge Angels is proud to launch Angels in the Community an initiative that will deliver football and healthy lifestyle projects, increase sporting participation, and assist disadvantaged sections of the local area while encouraging more junior supporters to the club.
A team of FA qualified coaches attached to the club will be working with local schools, community organisations and junior football clubs to inspire, nurture and enrich through the medium of football.
Commenting on Angels in the Community, Tonbridge Angels Football Club Chairman, Dave Netherstreet said: “We are very proud to launch Angels in the Community and feel we can make a real positive difference in the local area. This initiative will deliver football and healthy lifestyle programmes to benefit young people in Tonbridge and help to ensure we are at the heart of the sporting community.”
Tonbridge Angels Manager, Steve McKimm said: “Football can be such a force for good and its great to see the club is committed to helping the local area through the launch of Angels in the Community. Our management and first team players will also be involved in this new community programme and we’re all delighted to be making a positive contribution to help the people of Tonbridge.”
Angels in the Community will be hosting regular football coaching courses in the school holidays to help to develop the skills of young footballers of all abilities in a fun, and friendly environment and from the end of June. Football themed children’s birthday parties at the Longmead Stadium will also be offered. .
