Angels Over 50’s move into second spot

Walking

Final game success for the Walking Footballers

It proved a tough final fixture for the last game of the season for the over 50s Walking Footballers on Saturday.

Although starting strongly and having the majority of the possession for the first few minutes it was difficult to get any shots in on the Chatham goal. As time progressed the opponents began to get their game together and with a surprisingly physical approach for this level of football started to rain shots in on the Tonbridge goal. However Mike Hurn once again managed to keep everything out.

A couple of changes at the beginning of the second half took time to bed in and allowed Chatham to press forward. But a swift move out of defence and a great cross field pass allowed Jason Orchard the space to power in a right foot shot giving the keeper no chance at all.

Chatham pushed on searching for the equaliser but another great save from Hurn and the post kept them out and Tonbridge began to control the ball and retain possession. This was a tough game played out in cold, damp conditions but a great final result leaves them comfortably in the top half of the league ready for the cup tournament phase 2.
