Bailey commits for next season

Full back returns
As previously announced in the retained list, Tonbridge Angels are pleased to confirm that Bailey Akehurst has committed for the coming season.
Bailey returned to the Halcyon Wealth Longmead Stadium in January 2025, after enjoying a loan spell with the club in March 2023 whilst he was with Gillingham.
Bailey, a natural left footer with real quality on that flank, spent his youth career at Gillingham making 12 appearances including five in League One before he was released to join Hastings United in 2022 where he had previously had a successful loan spell. In November of 2023 he moved on to Dover Athletic, where he had a good season in National League South.
After returning in January, Bailey made a total of 19 appearances, scoring once with a memorable free kick at Eastbourne Borough.
Craig Nelson welcomed Bailey’s return: "Bailey’s someone I watched closely last season when he was at Chatham – he’s got a wonderful left foot and plays with real intent. He’s positive, hardworking, and brings great energy both on and off the ball. Once we spoke, it was clear we were aligned in our ambition. I’m really looking forward to seeing him thrive in a Tonbridge shirt."
Bailey added: “After a few chats with the gaffer about his vision for the club and how he sees me developing personally, the decision was a no-brainer. It’s a brilliant club with a passionate fanbase, and I’m buzzing to get going. Can’t wait for the season to start!”
Welcome back Bailey, have a great season!
