Two new Directors co-opted to the Board
Tonbridge Angels is pleased to announce two new directors, Richard Wane and Tom Brett, have been co-opted to the Board to assist Club operations.
Richard Wane is an Angels pitch investor and has followed the team for some years. A lawyer by trade, he has spent his career in financial services in legal, regulatory and business roles.
Commenting on his new role, Richard said, “I look forward to helping the Angels in any way I can as it continues to build a sustainable footballing future. I was attracted to the club by its ownership structure and the drive and ambition of the Board.”
Tom Brett is another Angels pitch investor, but relatively new to the club despite living in Tonbridge for many years. With a wealth of marketing experience and business leadership from almost 25 years in industry, he hopes to raise the profile of the club so that more people in the local area realise what a great football club they have on their doorstep.
Tom said, "Having three sons playing football locally, the new pitch project really drew me in, whilst the passion, drive for success, friendliness and sense of community at the club has inspired me further. I look forward to building on that with the Board as we go forward."
Tonbridge Angels Chair, Sophie Purves welcomed Richard and Tom to the Board and said, “After our AGM, both Richard and Tom, who are both Owners, expressed an interest in joining the Tonbridge Angels Board of Directors. Both individuals offer a great deal of business experience and key skills we need to take the Club forward. Most importantly, they share our community ethos and strongly believe in our supporter ownership model. I am sure they will be great assets to the club.”
