Boro' striker signs in
Loan spell for Stevenage forward
Tonbridge Angels are pleased to welcome to the Halcyon Wealth Longmead Stadium, Makise Evans, an 18 year-old striker, on a month’s loan from Stevenage.
Makise is a product of Stevenage’s Academy, who made his senior debut against Mansfield as an 87th minute substitute at 16 years of age, thus becoming the youngest player to represent the club. Then manager, Steve Evans, said on his selection to the first team squad: “Makise is one of those who has been jumping up and down with his performances and attitude.”
He has had loans at Potters Bar where he scored his first senior goal; Hornchurch and National League South experience at St Albans City.
Jay Saunders said of his signing: “We nearly signed him last year, but it fell through, so we kept tabs on him. He did well at St Albans where he was playing slightly out of position, but still chipped in with a couple of goals, so I think if we can get him into his natural position he is someone who will add to our front line. He brings a lot of pace and hard work and I think he will be one that our supporters take to quite quickly. We are still looking to bring another one into that forward area, but we are delighted to get Makise over the line initially and, hopefully, we will have another one soon.”
We thank Alex Revell and Stevenage for facilitating the loan of Makise.
