Mark Cornish co-opted to Board
The Club is delighted to announce that Mark Cornish has accepted an invitation to join the Board as a Director with immediate effect. Mark joins on a co-opted basis before standing for election and approval of the owners at the next AGM.
A lifelong football fan, and Tonbridge resident for almost fifteen years, Mark has enjoyed a successful career as a commercial lawyer. He will bring a wealth of legal and commercial experience to the role, and help drive the club forward to achieve its ambitions.
Mark said, “I’m honoured to be given the chance to fulfil a lifelong desire to play more of a role in the world of football, and give something back to a game that’s given me so much joy over the years. I’ve followed the club closely for a few years now and it quickly won a place in heart. I go to as many games as my wife and five year old daughter will allow. I never imagined that my love for the Premier League club I support would change. But now whenever someone asks me who I support, the answer is always the Angels, first and foremost. "
Mark added, "When I first saw the exciting and transformative plans that the Directors had for the new pitch, I jumped at the chance to become an Angels Investor. I was really proud to watch those plans come to fruition, and when I see the number of people and kids now playing on our fantastic surface, I know it is without doubt the most satisfying and best investment I have ever made. The Club is clearly going places, on and off the pitch, and is doing some fantastic work in the community. I can’t wait to get started as a director and do my best to be of some service to our fantastic club, community, and fans.”
Tonbridge Angels Chair, Sophie Purves said, "We welcome Mark Cornish to the Board. He brings a wealth of legal and commercial experience and we feel he can make a huge contribution to Club operations. He is an Angels fan, a pitch investor and shares our community football ethos. All the directors look forward to working with him and we are pleased to introduce Mark to our supporters and owners."
