New General Manager appointed
Tonbridge Angels Football Club is pleased to announce the arrival of David Cooke as our new General Manager. David will commence his role tomorrow and will be responsible for day to day operations at the club.
Most recently, David has been General Manager at National League South side, Welling United F.C, where he was responsible for leading the off-pitch team and overseeing all commercial and financial functions.
David has wide experience in the Football Industry, having also spent six years at Bromley Football Club, where he carried out many roles culminating in the position of Stadium Manager and Safety Officer.
Commenting on his new position, David Cooke said, “I am really looking forward to joining Tonbridge Angels and meeting as many supporters as possible. I’m extremely excited about this new challenge and the next step in my career in football. I’m very hands on in the way I work and will make sure I am accessible to both fans and my fellow colleagues. I just can’t wait to get started tomorrow.”
Tonbridge Angels Chair, Sophie Purves said, “We welcome David Cooke to the club in this important role. David has a wealth of experience at both Welling United and Bromley Football Club and has a good understanding of just how a football club works at this level. As a Board, we were particularly impressed with his enthusiasm, dedication and his high level of experience in so many aspects for football club operations. He is a real all-rounder and a great fit for us going forward.”
Sophie Purves expressed her thanks to interim General Manager, Dave Couldridge, who will be leaving this position and his role as Finance Director on the Board. Sophie said, “It has been a real pleasure to work alongside Dave and everyone on the Board is very grateful for all he has done as a director and for stepping into the breach as interim General Manager. We will formally recognise Dave’s contribution at the club’s AGM on 10th October.”
