"Electric" Bunmi is an Angel

Pacy forward added to squad
Tonbridge Angels can confirm the signing of Oluwabunmi Babajide, a 22-year-old forward who, last season, was with our National League South counterparts, Hampton and Richmond Borough.
Bunmi, as he is affectionately known, spent his youth career at Millwall and Queens Park Rangers before heading into senior football with Corinthian Casuals, Waltham Abbey and Egham Town prior to a move into step three with Carshalton Athletic.
Bunmi had a breakthrough season in 2023/24 with Carshalton, scoring 20 times in 37 Isthmian Premier League games, drawing the attention of Hampton & Richmond, where he appeared 20 times last season.
Craig Nelson commented on the latest addition to his squad: "Bunmi is electric – he brings pace, power, and a real eye for goal. He’s a player who’s hungry to kick on, and we’re excited to give him the platform to keep developing. He’s direct, fearless, and has the kind of energy that gets fans off their seats."
Bunmi added: "I’m really happy to be joining Tonbridge Angels. After speaking with the gaffer, I felt this was the right place for me to grow and show what I can do. I’m ready to work hard, enjoy my football, and contribute with goals and performances the fans can be proud of."
Welcome to the Angels, Bunmi!
