Ex-Angels in support of Forever Finley
Array of Longmead's finest to gather for charity
Tonbridge Angels are delighted to announce that, on Friday, 9th August, we will play host to our official charity for 2024/25, Forever Finley in a charity match that will feature many old favourites from the Angels’ past.
The Tonbridge team will be managed by Jay Saunders and Tommy Warrilow and among the players already committed to appear are our leading appearance maker Sonny Miles; Jon Heath, who turned out over 300 times in a 12 year career; legendary goalscorer Jon Main and many more including the likes of Kinch, Beales, Collin, Piper and Blewden. A full list will be published closer to the event.
Forever Finley was set up by Charlotte and Rob Smith in memory of their son Finley, who died at 41 weeks gestation during labour due to NHS negligence.
The charity provides 3D hand and feet castings to bereaved parents in and around Essex, Suffolk and Kent. They cast angel babies from 23 weeks gestation onwards and can help make the most precious memories for families.
The Forever Finley football team has been playing on Friday evenings at the Halcyon Wealth Longmead Stadium since September 2022. The team is made up of other bereaved fathers, who have also lost babies during pregnancy or in childbirth and they play against other charity teams.
Tonbridge Angels will also be hosting “Harpers Day” on behalf of the charity on 25th August 2024, this is a tournament for several other charity football teams in the area.
You can find out more about Forever Finley and the work they do to support bereaved parents at their website www.foreverfinley.co.uk.
Admission for the match, kicking off at 7.45pm, will be £5 payable on the turnstiles.
