Ex Iron striker moves to Longmead

Luke Holness welcome September 2022

Luke Holness will give Jay options up front

Tonbridge Angels has today signed 24 year old forward Luke Holness.  Capable of also playing wide, Luke’s previous club was Braintree Town where as part of Ryan Maxwell’s squad defied the pundits who made them a relegation favourite, by turning the tables by confirming safety well before the end of the season.

A change of manager at Cressing Road during the summer meant Luke was looking for a new club and Angels Boss, Jay Saunders has seized the opportunity to bring the striker to Longmead to contribute to the goals tally.

Saunders said today:  I’m very pleased that Luke has agreed to join us.  His hat trick at Hemel Hempstead last season has of course been well documented, but there is more to his game than just scoring goals and I believe he will be a different option and at the same time add goals to the side.  With Dylan injured at the moment,  it is important we have options.

Holness will be available for Saunders’ squad for tomorrow’s home fixture versus Dulwich Hamlet.
