Friday Briefing

“We’re not just going to sit back”
We face what looks like the hardest game so far against an unbeaten Ebbsfleet United on Saturday.
The Fleet have not lost a game in league or cup since last season’s play-off final, but Jay is still looking forward to it:
“As a manager and a player you want to be involved in the biggest games. They’re the only unbeaten team in the country, there’ll be a big crowd, it’s a derby, so for me it’s one you look forward to. You want to test yourself against the best teams. They’re certainly that.
“I go into every game wanting to win it. We give them respect and we’ve done our homework. Yes we have to be hard to beat but we also look at how we can win the game. We haven’t probably got a team who can just sit behind the ball, we’ve got good energy, and what I will say is if we get chances like we got at Concord, and I don’t suspect we’ll get as many, we’ve got to take them.”
As for the team news, it’s going to be similar to the players available for the Concord game.
Jay said: “It was good for Parky and Jamie to get minutes under their belt and with no reaction, and so we’ll be pretty much as we were.”
