Fyn Rutherford moves to Longmead
Talented teenager continues his progress in the game
Talented teenager Fyn Rutherford continues to see his footballing career progress after signing for National League South club, Tonbridge Angels.
As a 17 year old and having represented Kent Schools FA U18s and attending coaching school Soccer Elite, he attracted the attention of then Margate manager Jay Saunders and was to make 15 appearances in 2021/22 for the Kent Coast club.
He scored his first senior goal for Margate against none other than EFL Gillingham, helping to knock them out of the Kent Senior Cup and on the strength of that performance was invited for a trial by the Priestfield outfit.
Although the attacking midfielder was to return to Hartsdown Park he continued to impress Saunders hence his move now to Longmead.
The Angels Manager said today of the 17 year old: “Fyn has always impressed me. He certainly has natural ability but his willingness to listen to advice and continue to learn all he can from the game is what I particularly like about him. If he can continue on the same trajectory he has a great future in front of him.”
