Gills winger is loaned to season's end
Aussie Matty arrives from Priestfield
Tonbridge Angels are pleased to welcome Matthew MacArthur, who joins on loan through to the end of the season from Gillingham.
Aussie-born Matty MacArthur, 19, born in Sydney, is a right sided winger who played youth team football with West Sydney Wanderers before coming to England to continue his youth career with Southampton’s Academy and subsequently at Gillingham where he signed his first professional contract.
Matty has seen first team action on three occasions in the EFL Trophy and has had loan spells at Margate, Sheppey United and this season at Dartford.
Jay Saunders said of his new signing: “In forward areas we haven’t been creative enough. He’s someone I’ve seen quite a bit of, he adds something different out wide or central.”
Welcome to the Halcyon Wealth Longmead Stadium, Matty. We hope you enjoy your time with Tonbridge Angels.
