Jamie's back for 2023/24
Fielding chooses the Angels despite competition
Despite intense competition for his signature, Tonbridge Angels are delighted to announce that Jamie Fielding has opted to remain at the Halcyon Wealth Longmead Stadium for the upcoming season.
Jamie, 23 years old, a firm fans’ favourite, graduated out of Eastbourne Borough’s Academy before signing with Hastings United in 2017. The following season at the Pilot Field, in which he was named United’s Young Player of the Year, brought attention from EFL clubs, Forest Green Rovers and Stevenage and he signed for the latter for the 2019-20 season. He made six appearances for Stevenage before loan spells at St Albans City and Braintree Town.
Jamie joined the Angels in September, 2021 and he has accumulated a total of 68 appearances for the club, scoring twice, his first goal being a memorable volley against Farnborough in September.
Jamie said: “I’m buzzing to have signed on for next season. The progress over the last couple of seasons has been significant and that’s down to the management team and a mix of experienced and younger players. The club is moving in the right direction and I’m looking forward to help the team achieve their goals and push for promotion! On a personal note I will be pushing myself to the limit and I will give everything I have for the club.”
Tommy Parkinson said: “We are really pleased that Jamie has agreed to stay for next season after a lot of interest from other clubs. He had a really good season last year and we felt there is still a lot more to come. He will be a vital part to our defensive unit next season.”
