Jay's Friday Briefing
Jay looks ahead to the long trip to Torquay with Matt Davison
It's another long trip for Tonbridge Angels as we make our fifth trip to the south west this season to visit Torquay.
Despite the 450 mile round trip, Tonbridge will have a good following, boosted by the fun bus of fans leaving on Saturday morning.
Manager Jay Saunders said: "We're fully aware of their history, being ex-football league, but we'll show them the respect they deserve. If you turn up and see it's a good set-up and a manager that's worked at a high level you think it's a good place to go and test yourself. It's one we're looking forward to.
"I watched their game against Eastbourne and they looked very good. At Dartford they had a tougher game but as we know, Dartford's a tough place to go. They're a good side, full of good players and a good management team. We'll have to be at our best. We go into it with a lot of confidence. If you go to Torquay you want to go there on the back of the run we've been on. The players have trained well and we're looking forward to it."
On team news there will need to be at least one change due to a knee injury to Ben Swift which is still being assessed, but Jay does have options: "With Swifty out, Jamie Fielding comes back into contention. Otherwise everyone is where they were.
"Kodi Lyons-Foster is back in training. He's probably a few weeks away yet but he's ahead of schedule which is good. When he got injured he targeted Boxing Day, but we won't rush him. He can join in as and when he feels right, and it's good he's making good progress."
