Jay's Friday Briefing
Jay previews tomorrow's encounter with Welling United
Jay Saunders is well aware Welling's lowly league position should not be taken any notice of when the teams meet at Park View Road on Saturday as the Angels look to end a poor run of results against the Wings.
Jay said: "Welling's a really tough game to go into. Rod Stringer's gone in there, I've known him for many years and I know his teams are very hard working, he's brought in a lot of players, some we know like Sonny Fish. We lost both games against them last year, we lost to them earlier in the season so we haven't got the best of records against them so hopefully we can change that. But regardless of league position it's hard to play a team with a new manager, they get the new manager bounce, and it's difficult to plan with who they're going to put out.
"We've prepared well, we're looking forward to it. If we play at the levels we did against Yeovil, maybe do a bit better defensively in key moments then I'm sure we can get a positive result."
There's been one bit of transfer news this week, the extension of Nathan Odokonyero's loan deal from Ebbsfleet, with possibly more to announce before the game.
On Nathan's renewal, Jay said: "Delighted to keep Nathan who has done really well, he's enjoyed it, and he's keen to stay and we're thankful to Ebbsfleet. He took his goal very well against Yeovil and I'm delighted to get that over the line."
"Ansu Janneh's joined Hastings on a month's loan to get some games, and everyone's available apart from Swifty, I don't see there being any problems unless there's anything last minute, so we go into the game with plenty of options."
