Jordan's back!
Greenidge returns to Longmead
Tonbridge Angels are absolutely delighted to announce the contracted signing of Jordan Greenidge from Hemel Hempstead Town. The terms of the contract remain subject to the Football Association’s approval.
Jordan has had many offers in the intervening period from the end of his loan spell here in April and through the summer. He has taken his time, carefully considering what is best for him and his future career and has decided that Longmead, and Tonbridge Angels, where he has been at his happiest, is the place to be.
Jordan’s spell with the Angels was a fruitful one for both himself and the club. He joined the club in November with a two goal debut in an albeit FA Trophy exit at the hands of Bracknell Town. In 28 appearances he found the net a total of 17 times, rounding off his season with the winning goal in the final match against Cheshunt.
Jordan began his career as a youth player at Stoke City before making his debut as a senior player abroad firstly with Cypriot side, Omonia Nicosia before moving to Spain where he joined Club Deportivo Badajoz. On his return to the UK his career has also seen spells at Newport County, Weymouth and Dartford before joining Hemel Hempstead.
Jordan commented in his signing: “I’m very excited to be back and can’t wait to get started. I was really happy here last season and it’s important for me to feel that way in order to play my best football. The way the club treated me and the support I got from the fans last season had a big impact on my decision to come back. I’m looking forward to joining the other lads in training and having a good season.”
A naturally delighted Jay Saunders added: “I’m delighted to bring Jordan back to Tonbridge Angels. He has had a number of offers to join other clubs, but we’ve worked hard to bring him back to Longmead. I know what he can add to the team and he knows how well-regarded he is here at the club.”
On behalf of the club, chair Sophie Purves would like to thank Hemel Hempstead Town, and their chairman, Dave Boggins, for their helpful co-operation with this transfer.
