Last season’s loanee becomes a permanent signing

As supporters who attended the last two Pre-Season Friendlies would have noticed, Liam Vincent featured in both games and Tonbridge Angels are now delighted to confirm that Liam has signed on a permanent basis for the upcoming season.

Liam, arrived at the Halcyon Wealth Longmead Stadium in January, initially on a one month loan from Portsmouth as cover for an injured Jernade Meade, but stayed at the club through to the end of the season in which he showed his versatility covering a number of positions, making a total of 16 appearances.

Liam was released by Pompey at the end of the season, having joined them from Bromley in 2021 and has considered several offers during the summer before choosing to return to Tonbridge Angels.

Liam commented after signing the relevant forms following training on Thursday: “I’m really excited to sign and be back. Obviously I was here last year on loan but it is nice to be back here permanently. I really enjoyed my time here last year, it’s a really good club with ambition so hopefully this season we can kick on and go that one step further and get into the play-offs, that’s the aim and that’s everyone’s aim here at the club and I think we are more than capable of doing it. So I’m really looking forward to the season getting started and pushing on this year.”

His manager, Jay Saunders, added: “Over the moon to get Liam back at the club, this time as our player. He is someone that brings versatility to the squad, quality and on top of that he’s a great lad in the dressing room. So, once again, he is another good addition to a really competitive squad that we are trying to build.”
