McKimm looks ahead to Welling

‘I’d be more concerned if we weren’t creating chances’
Manager Steve McKimm says he’d be more concerned if we weren’t creating chances, as he looks to end a run of three defeats when we go to Welling on Saturday (13th November KO 3:00pm).
After not scoring in the three games he said it’s a collective issue, not just one just for the strikers:
“The bottom line is if we don’t create chances, that’s when we worry, but we are creating chances. It’s not just strikers, it’s from set pieces, midfielders, and defenders who have to chip in, it’s a team game. When we stop creating, that’s when we start pushing the panic button. But we don’t win games if we don’t score, it’s a collective thing and we’ll look at it very closely.”
Welling have seen an improvement since Peter Taylor came in as manager, and Steve is aware of their strengths:
“They’ve won three of their last five, picked up points so they’re in a good place at the moment. We know what they’re about, it’s just a case of us trying to stop that and score goals.”
Steve also said five players are struggling for the game against Welling, who will be assessed between now and Saturday.
