It is one of the most eagerly anticipated dates of the close season and, at 1 o’clock this afternoon, the fixture list for National League South was published.

Jay Saunders’ Angels begin their 2023/24 campaign with an away fixture at Worthing on Saturday, 5th August and the opener is followed a week later with our first home fixture against newly-promoted Weston-super-Mare.

For those waiting patiently to arrange their weekends away in the west country, hopefully the summer sunshine can hold until 14th October when we visit Weymouth. The trip to Plymouth for the Truro visit comes a fortnight later. The other west country visits are, unfortunately, in the depths of winter with Torquay scheduled for 2nd December and Weston-super-Mare on 27th January.

The Christmas period sees the traditional double-header with this time our old foes from up the A26 providing the opposition at the Halcyon Wealth Longmead Stadium on Boxing Day with the return fixture on New Year’s Day.

Easter brings games at Hampton and Richmond Borough on Good Friday and Farnborough visit on Easter Monday.

The regular season winds up on 20th April with a home game against St Albans City.
