Tonbridge Angels are pleased to welcome to the Halcyon Wealth Longmead Stadium Josh Popoola, a 19-year old, right sided winger who joins through to the end of the season following his release from Stockport County.

Josh returns south after spending his youth career at Watford and following his release from the Hornets, joining Hitchin Town. Ahead of the 2022/23 season he signed his first professional contract with AFC Bournemouth, spending time of that season on loan at Cheshunt.

During the close season of 2023, he joined Stockport County, making his senior debut in the EFL Trophy against Manchester United Under 23’s. His loan spells away from Edgeley Park have been “up north” with time at Spennymoor Town, Chorley and Warrington Town.

Jay Saunders welcomed his new signing: “Josh is something different to what we have in our squad and is keen to come and show what he is capable of. We are looking forward to working with him between now and the end of the season.”
