Notice of Tonbridge Angels FC Annual General Meeting : Friday 16th July
Open to All Tonbridge Angels Owners
In accordance with the rules of our supporter owned club, notice is hereby given of the Owners Annual General Meeting to take place on Friday 16th July 2021 in the Longmead Marquee, Darenth Avenue, Tonbridge TN10 3JF with a 7:00pm for 7:30pm start. The meeting is only open to Tonbridge Angels Owners and the appropriate membership card must be presented to gain entry. Any Covid-19 restrictions applicable will be detailed later once these have been confirmed. After the official business is concluded there will be a Question & Answer session with Angels Manager, Steve McKimm.
The Owners AGM is of course the opportunity to confirm the makeup of your Board for 2021/22 and confirm that any elections necessary have or will be properly conducted.
The following Board members have taken the decision to stand down: -
Sarah Parks - Following her appointment as Tonbridge Angels Events and Hospitality Manager
Jim Rowe
Wink Tomkinson
Amy Weaver
Vanessa Yates
Chairman Dave Netherstreet said: “I would like to thank all those standing down for their immense hard work over the last few years through, it has to be said, some very challenging moments for the club. We owe them all a debt of gratitude for their steadfastness and determination to keep things moving in the right direction as we strive to build on the successes we have also seen during their terms of office.”
The following Directors will continue to serve on the Board: -
Ian Clear
David Couldridge
Dave Netherstreet
The following Owners have indicated that they would wish to serve on the Board and have already been co-opted onto the Board for the specific skills and experience they immediately offer: -
Phil Broad
Sophie Purves
Phil has provided us with very detailed thinking on how in the long term we can convert our grass pitch to artificial, therefore providing the ability to use our most precious piece of infrastructure, the stadium, at a far higher frequency than we are able to at present. Phil will also be taking forward plans for a significantly improved stadium that will heighten the matchday experience for players and spectators and indeed other users of the Longmead complex.
Sophie is well known already to many of you for the work she is doing in pushing forward commercial initiatives across the club. Since her arrival we have seen the launch of Angels in the Community, The Angels Business Club, and a revamp of sponsorship packages on offer to individuals and businesses. She comes with experience of currently running her own business, 13 years on the Board of York City FC during its EFL days and a founding member of the York City Supporters Trust.
Owners are now asked to consider whether they would wish to put themselves forward for election to the Board and the attachment will allow you to do this. Please click here for that pdf attachment.
An agenda will be circulated to Owners nearer to the date of the meeting together with financial statements.
