Planning Permission granted for Upz and Downz Learning Centre

Upz and Downz

Includes new Club Shop

A centre in Tonbridge where young adults with learning disabilities can learn skills to give them opportunities in life has moved a step closer with the granting of planning permission by Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council.

Based in the south east corner of Tonbridge Angels FC’s Halcyon Wealth Longmead Stadium, the Upz and Downz 3300 sq. ft building will include a workshop, kitchen, cafe open to the public, and Angels Club Shop.

It is planned that construction can start this May with completion by the end of the year.

Bernard Chick of Upz and Downz said today: “The obtaining of planning permission is a huge step forward and I would like to thank everyone who has helped us get to this stage.”

Dave Netherstreet, Chairman of Tonbridge Angels added: “The new building will enhance a rather run-down area of our stadium and also gives us the addition of a new club shop and two offices. Congratulations to Bernard and Upz and Downz.”
