Pre-Season schedule confirmed
Charlton Athletic and Gillingham to visit
We might not have seen much summer sun as yet and leather has yet to hit willow in the Ashes but pre-season planning has now been completed and Tonbridge Angels are delighted that this season a full complement of matches are set for the Halcyon Wealth Longmead Stadium.
The line-up includes matches against EFL clubs, Charlton Athletic and Gillingham and the fans’ mid-summer beano takes us to the North Yorkshire seaside town of Scarborough.
Pre-season opens on Saturday, 1st July when the Angels travel down to Hythe Town, where we are likely to meet up with old friends in Frannie Collin and Liam Smith. This is followed by another trip to east Kent on Tuesday, 4th July for a game against Folkestone Invicta.
The Angels return home for the rest of pre-season (bar the Scarborough trip) starting on Friday, 7th July when we entertain our neighbours and newly promoted Ebbsfleet United before the first of our EFL visitors, Charlton Athletic, come to Longmead on Tuesday, 11th July at 7.45pm. Sandwiched between Charlton and Gillingham, who visit on Tuesday, 18th July (7.45pm), is a Saturday fixture against Dulwich Hamlet.
Our trip to Scarborough is scheduled for 22nd July at 3pm. Scarborough Athletic, managed by Jonathan Greening, are a National League North club that only missed out on the play-offs on goal difference last season. Scarborough is easily reached by train, departing London King's Cross, changing at York for a 50 minute onward journey to Scarborough.
Pre-season is wound up on Saturday, 29th July when we entertain Margate.
A Tonbridge Angels XI will host Stansfeld on Monday, 10th July with free admission.
