Swiftly moving on to a re-signing!
Ben commits for 2023-24
Ben Swift has re-signed for Tonbridge Angels for the upcoming season.
Ben, 26 years old, joined the Angels during the summer of last year after spending five years at Margate under his present manager, Jay Saunders. Swift began his career at Maidstone United, where he earned a move to Premier League side, Aston Villa.
Ben made 39 appearances last season, scoring just the once, but a memorable one at Ebbsfleet United when he ended the match with his head swathed in bandages, Terry Butcher style, and no less heroic as the Angels celebrated a magnificent win against the eventual champions.
Ben said on his signing: “I’m delighted to be staying for another year. I really enjoyed my first season at Tonbridge Angels and looking forward to progress from last season and hopefully reach the play-offs.”
Assistant Manager Tom Parkinson added: “Delighted to have Swifty onboard for another season. Last season he stepped up to the level and performed consistently alongside Sonny. We have every confidence Ben will continue to improve and do well again next season.”
