The Gaffer looks towards Canvey Island
“We’ll have to come with our A-game or we’ll come unstuck”
Angels Manager Steve McKimm says that we have to get back to winning ways as we visit Isthmian North side Canvey Island in the FA Trophy, but knows we face a tough, hard working opponent.
He said: "We want to win every game we can, we have to get back to winning ways. We stopped the rot with a point last week. This week we want to get a win but will be extremely hard against a team in top form.
"We'll have to come with our A-game to beat them or we'll come unstuck. They have a good team ethic, and work hard for each other. Since Mark Bentley went to Southend the new management team has taken it on, kept things the same and they're reaping rewards from it."
It'll be a slightly different squad from the Chelmsford game with one, possibly two, returning, and one departure.
"Craig (Braham-Barrett) is back from suspension and we hope Parky comes through. Adam Lovatt should be fine in two or three weeks, it's not as serious as it first looked. Adam is with us until the middle of January, so that would mean he can play over the Christmas period which will help us massively."
Steve also confirmed the end of Jake Hutchinson's loan spell from Colchester, which isn't being renewed.
"Jake wasn't going to be a long term thing and we wish him all the best. He did OK when he was called upon but I'm looking for something different. We have put seven day approaches in for players we hope to talk to at the beginning of next week, and we're working on another loan. We've only got fifteen at the moment so there is room to add a couple."
