Tonbridge Angels are delighted to confirm the signing of Tom Clifford, a 25 year-old, versatile but principally left-sided defender. 

After time at Tottenham’s Academy as a junior, Tom was at Southend United from the age of 11, progressing through all of the age groups before making is first team debut in December 2018. He  went on to make 66 appearances, scoring five times for the Shrimpers before finding his playing time limited in his final season and deciding to move on in the close season of 2023 to National League North club King’s Lynn.

Jay Saunders said of Tom: “I’m really pleased to get Tom over the line. He is someone that has played in this league and a higher level as well. He has good experience but still at a good age and he will give us that natural balance on that side and I’m sure he will link up with Shieldsy really well. Technically a very good player and I’m looking forward to working with him.”
