Tom Tugendhat MP visits The Angels

He hears of the current challenges for the club
Tonbridge & Malling MP, Tom Tugendhat visited The Halcyon Wealth Longmead Stadium on Friday evening (18th September) to hear from Angels Chairman, Dave Netherstreet, the challenges the club were potentially facing with doubts still existing that the season could start without supporters in grounds.
With the big kick off just two weeks away, it is vital that revenue starts flowing again so that the club can meet its financial obligations including of course paying the players. Whilst various Government initiatives have helped enormously together with money from the Premier League, and has enabled the club to reach the cusp of the 2020/21 season, the situation will become acute if fans continue to be prevented from coming to matches.
Mr Tugendhat completely understood the situation and pledged to do whatever he could to help the club. He sees the Angels as a vital part of the community not only for the football that is played but as a facility that many organisations in the town can make use of.
It was undoubtedly a very useful meeting and it’s good to know that our local MP understands the vital role The Angels play within the community and that we have his support. We thank Mr Tugendhat for taking time out of his busy diary to visit us.
