Trevor Arnold RIP
We mourn the passing of the club's former videographer
Very sad news has reached the club of the passing of the club's former videographer Trevor 'Spielberg' Arnold at 8:00 this morning(27th August). He was a pioneer of providing film footage of Angels games for supporters to enjoy in their comfort of their own homes and re-live some those exciting Longmead moments as well as setting up the clubs You Tube channel. For example, who can forget his excellent coverage of that famous Isthmian Premier Play Off Final win against Lowestoft Town all filmed from the then somewhat rickety camera position! Trevor will also be remembered as part of the drumming team in the 90's behind the opposition's goal at home matches.
A true supporter who gave of his time willingly to help the club as it dealt with the challenges of new technology in the dawn of the 21st century, Trev was a quiet unassuming man but also a true gentleman.
Possibly less well known to Angels supporters was that Trev was an accomplished musician who was a fine trumpet and saxophone player, jazz being a genre he was passionate about. A particular claim to fame was that he was a session player with The Beatles in the Cavern Club, Liverpool during the 60's. .
Trev had not been in the best of health in the last couple of years and was last seen regularly filming at the ground in the early months of 2019. Nevertheless this news will, we know, come with shock and sadness to his many friends at the club. As yet funeral details are not known but these will be published on this website as soon as possible.
The club sends sincere condolences to Trevor's family and many friends. A minute's applause will take place immediately before August Bank Holiday's home fixture against St Albans City.
