TW is still an Angel

Tommy Wood opens the scoring for the Angels in 3-0 win away at Oxford City 22.02.20.

Tommy Wood agrees terms for 2021/22

Striker, Tommy Wood, has agreed terms to stay at Longmead for season 2021/22 as Manager, Steve McKimm, continues to build his squad for the upcoming National South campaign.

Tommy was signed on a month's loan from AFC Wimbledon in February 2020 and scored within 15 minutes of making his Angels debut at Oxford City.  He was to play only another two games before that season was brought to a halt due to the pandemic.  He was however to rejoin the club on a permanent basis in October 2020 only to experience another disrupted campaign due to the continuing pandemic.  Despite the challenges he has scored 6 goals for the Angels in a total of 19 appearances and will certainly be looking forward to a more settled period of competition in which he can continue to show supporters his awareness in front of goal.

McKimm said today: "I'm delighted that Tommy wants to stay with us.  He can not only score goals, but will provide assists and make space for others to profit from.  This is an important step forward as I continue to plan for 2021/22."   .
