Angels U15s and Langton U15s prepare for The Henry Grootveldt Memorial Match, May 2019

Fitting tribute to the late Henry Grootveldt, Angels coach driver

The match between Tonbridge Angels under 15s and Langton Green under 15s in memory of Henry Grootveldt on the 8th May has raised a massive £1,553 for the Football Fight Back campaign.

A crowd of 138 gathered to watch the two local teams that have a great bond play each other. The event was a fantastic success and a great experience for both sets of boys to play at the Longmead Stadium.

Said Manager Todd Tyrie:  "A big thank you to the Angels board for allowing us to use the stadium to host the game and to Lesley Grootveldt for presenting the trophy.

Also special thanks to Tracy Balcombe, Susan and Rob Lansdowne, Maria Gibb and Joe Murphy for co-ordinating the event, Sarah Wilkins and Michelle Tyrie for working on the turn stiles and Langton Green Giants for supporting.  Thanks also to Match Officials Jonathan Gage, Ashley Rodi and Brian Hobden all of whom donated their fee to the charity.

We would also like to thank the following local businesses who very kindly donated gifts for the raffle –
