Tonbridge Angels are delighted to welcome back to the Halcyon Wealth Longmead Stadium popular defender Jamie Fielding.

Jamie decided at the end of last season that he would explore the possibility of full time football and has had interest from several clubs at this level and above but has decided that he would like to extend his time at a club he clearly loves.

Jamie signed for the club in September 2021 from Stevenage and has been a firm fans’ favourite ever since. At the end of last season he had totalled 106 appearances, scoring six times.

Jamie said of his return to the Angels: “I’m delighted to sign on at Tonbridge for another year. It is a place I can really call home and really looking forward to the upcoming season to see what we can achieve with the same goals in mind. It’s a place I can call home after a difficult summer trying to pursue full time football and play the highest standard I can. It is just great to be back in an environment that I know so well under the management and playing in front of those great fans every week. Really looking forward to it and I’ll see you soon.”

Jay Saunders said of his signing: “Obviously delighted that Jamie has decided to stay at the club. Despite having quite a few offers he has felt that if he is going to stay at this level he wants to stay with us. So, I’m delighted that we have managed to keep him, he is someone that can play in a few positions. He knows the club, he is well liked, well respected and hopefully he can kick on and have another good season like last year.”
