Who is the little girl wearing an Angels shirt?
It's Betty-Leigh Allinson and she's raising money for Garden House Hospice Care
If the name Allinson might just seem familiar in footballing circles then you'd be right. Betty-Leigh is the 5 year old daughter of Lee Allinson, manager of Hendon FC and granddaughter of Ian Allinson, manager of fellow National South side St Albans City.
Betty-Leigh is riding a mile a day on her bike(with no stabilisers) wearing a different football shirt, league and non-league, to raise money for the Garden House Hospice where her grandmother works. Hospices have been very hard hit financially due to the pandemic with the inability to have charity shops open or to organise fund raising events and yet they are still expected to carry out vital palliative care to those facing a life limiting illness.
Having aimed for a modest £500 when she started, Betty-Leigh has raised an incredible £15,880 so far to help this very worthwhile cause.
