Wings defender joins The Angels
McKimm strengthens defence as season moves towards the 'business end'
Tonbridge Angels have signed former Welling United defender, Teddy Perkins (22) as Boss, Steve McKimm moves to strengthen his defence with crucial games fast approaching.
A former member of Leyton Orient and Burnley Academies, Teddy joined Watford U23's in January 2020 during which time he spent a period at Hemel Hempstead Town on loan. He left the Hornets at the start of this season (2021/22) to join Chipstead before joining Welling United.
Teddy was signed on Friday (4th March), the eve of the Angels away fixture with Oxford City and went straight into the starting line up at The Velocity Stadium as part of the 3 strong back line. McKimm commented after the game: "Bearing in mind the difficult situation he found himself in, I thought he did very well. As we prepare for some crucial fixtures in the coming weeks I need to be able to have flexibility to adjust the defence to suit the circumstances surrounding individual games. I'm very pleased to have Teddys signature which will allow me to do this."
